LAKE ANGELINA — BACKPACKING

photography and journal by Katey Hamill

With the hopes of getting out for a quick overnight adventure, my dad and I set out to backpack part of the PCT into Tahoe's wilderness. We began our trek at the peak of Donner Summit and headed into the woods towards Lake Angela. We hiked a couple miles into the cold and eventually found our camping spot for the night. After setting up the tent, we broke out our cameras and attempted to capture the milky way that was shining brightly above our heads. The results were glorious.
